What if You Can’t Dance? Like, at all.

If the dance in pole dance is where you get lost …

Let me tell you, for a lot of people, the dance in pole dance is the scary part. Not the upside-down, hanging-by-your-little-toe moves, but the dancing.

You know, the part where you have to stand there and actually, like, dance.

So, today’s tutorial is about …

How to loosen up and discover that you just might be able to dance, after all!

(If you’re reading this from a feed, click here to view the video.)

Have a question you’d like answered on Ask Jennifer?

Fabulous! I post video tutorials every other Wednesday. If you want your question featured,
email me and I’ll get it in the line-up.

You may also want to enter the giveaway! Three winners will be drawn from the emails I receive by January 31, 2010. They will each get a free one-hour coaching session on stage presence. No purchase is necessary. (Remember, questions should be on stage presence and performance skills – not pole moves.)

And, if you are looking for something more one-on-one, you can always set up a private coaching session with me.

So, lots of options, lots of fun – can’t wait to hear from you!

And be sure to check out the last Ask Jennifer on How to Dance the Hell Out of Each Move. (Followed quickly by How Youtube is Sending Me into Therapy. Sigh.)

This is really helpful! I’m one of those people who still gets lost dancing. I like the stuff about interacting with the pole – I didn’t really think of it that way before =)

@svarri – I love your phrase about getting lost dancing – maybe what we all need is just a map. :)

It wasn’t particularly thought through :) but now that I think about it, there is a sense in which being comfortable dancing means have a direction. It means you need to know how your body works and moves and what makes it expressive. Plus having the confidence to go with it.

Needless to say, it’s very much a work in progress for me!

I love your videos and how you break things down into simple moves, that anyone can do! And especially how to weave things into each other.
