Girl tries to pole.

Girl’s lady bits make an unexpected appearance doing a Boomerang on Youtube.

Girl starts a company.

Pole Dancers to the Rescue!

Not that you’d ever call me a prude, but a surprise money shot on full screen was a bit more than I was willing to cope with.

So I did what any other self-respecting pole dancer would do – I headed for the forums.

What do you all wear to pole? I asked.

The answers I got ranged from underwear to athletic apparel, but nothing seemed to work the way I wanted it to. The undies stretched out of shape and gapped; the athletic wear got in my way on the pole.

Darn it all, I thought, I’ll design my own!

So I did.

Pole Dancer on a Quest

I tracked down a pattern maker from the wilds of Palm Beach. I spent a year testing fabric. I tried out designs and fitted prototypes on pole dancers across the country. The result was the Tail Spin Short, which launched PoleSkivvies in early 2009.

Alas, all was not yet perfect in my quest for the perfect pole short.

As it happened, the original Tail Spin Short was so adamant about not ever gapping in the crotch, that it was far too snug, looking its best only on twigs and anorexic stalks of hay.

Back to the drawing board, I went. And, voila!, the new and improved Tail Spin Short met with wild acclaim.

Pole Dancer Dreams Big

Next I added the Butterfly Short and the Gemini Bra, favorites from the get-go.

So, the dream continues … from perfect pole shorts to perfect pole clothes. Not to mention the new Jade Tank Top!

After all, a girl can no more be content having just a single pair of shorts than she can be having just a single pole.

And, really, whoever heard of such a thing?
