Pole Dancing for a Cause
There’s nothing like the pole dance community for helping one another out. Right now, there are TWO pole dancing events in the works to lend a hand to Debbie Plowman, who was paralyzed last December falling from a pole. Read on for details on how you can help!
Platinum Stages Pole Crawl Bingo
On September 10-11, 2010, East Meets West Pole Events will be hosting the Platinum Stages Pole Crawl Bingo, in conjunction with the Polarity Competition in Charlottesville.
Platinum Stages has generously donated the use of four poles that will be placed at various locations around Charlottesville’s beautiful downtown pedestrian mall. At each location, participants will have the opportunity to do a pole trick for a bingo mark. Each participant will be playing for “bingo” prizes provided by Platinum Stages.
Two of these stages will be used as raffle prizes, as well. Bingo cards are $5, which gets your name entered in the raffle. All proceeds of this event will go either directly to Debbie Plowman or to the Pole to Peak climb (see below). For all the details, contact Sam at EMW Pole Events and join the Platinum Stages Pole Crawl Bingo Facebook page.
Pole to Peak
KT Coates of Vertical Dance is gathering pole dancers from around the world to join her on a climb of Mt. Kilimanjaro. The climb will take place September 2011, and every pole dance school is invited to send someone on the trip. It will be a fantastic experience and an opportunity to get pole dancers together.
The minimum fundraising amount to participate is £3000, with £1850 going towards the cost of the trip and £1150 going to Debbie. The goal is to raise over £30,000 for Debbie and her kids! To see how you can participate, contact KT Coates and – once the site is up and running – visit PoletoPeak.com.
I’ll be sure to post more on these events as the dates approach and I get more details. In the meantime, help spread the word!
