Jennifer, I think this is fantastic, it’s right up my alley! I love it!! This type of self-help material is something I dig right into. It also happens to target several of my issues as you know!!!! Rotating your hips in public? Revealing your skin? OOOH, big issues for a girl raised Catholic!! Thank you for putting something like this together. This is a great tool, and YOU are AMAZING!!!!!!!!!

You love to pole dance.
When you’re dancing by yourself, practicing on your pole, you feel so at ease. You are graceful and assured and you glide beautifully from spin to climb to invert without a second thought.
But put a few people in the room and it’s a whole other story.
You get butterflies. Nausea.
Your heart races.
You get clammy.
Your hands sweat.
You can’t remember your music.
You forget your routine. Moves you’ve done a thousand times trip you up.
In short, you get stage fright. And it ruins everything.
Stage fright sucks.
It really does. It feels terrifying and panicky. It makes you worry about embarrassing yourself and being totally humiliated. It makes you a nervous wreck for weeks before you try to perform, even when it’s only the class recital.
It feels endless and hopeless and like you wish you’d never even thought of dancing in front of anyone. Ever.
But it can get better.
Really, it can. Stage fright does not have to be permanent. With a few understandings and some practice exercises, you can get to the bottom of your fear and start to really enjoy dancing for other people.
The So Long, Stage Fright! Workbook will help you get there.
Part One: Discover Your Core
This section is all about figuring out what feelings are hidden underneath your stage fright. Fear is a protective response – find out what it’s trying to communicate, and you can begin to respond to its concerns without having to fight against it. You’ll explore the emotions that come up for you when you’re about to perform, as well as what thoughts you have associated with those feelings.
Part Two: Strengthen Your Core
This is where you learn how to express all of those feelings in dance. Rather than shutting down when fear raises its head, you will learn to dance through your fear. You will learn exercises to help you discover which emotions you associate with different parts of your body, and you will learn how to release those feelings through movement. You will also create simple strategies to cope with the physical symptoms you experience as part of your stage fright.
Part Three: Build Confidence Step by Step
The exercises in this section show you how to practice performing in front of other people, and how to increase your ease in doing so. You will start with simple movements and increase to your actual skill level on the pole, building up your confidence with small groups before progressing to larger audiences.
Part Four: Pulling It All Together
This section gives you tips on applying what you’ve learned and some helpful advice to make performing easier. It also reminds you to take your time – getting over stage fright is like learning to invert; it’s about how thoroughly you learn, not how quickly you can do the move.
The So Long, Stage Fright! Workbook is a PDF that will arrive in your email, generally within 24 hours of placing your order. And, if you find you need a little extra help, you are absolutely welcome to email me with any questions.
